Trust Your Horse.

One of the compelling aspects of our sport, one which sets it apart and dare I say far above all others in difficulty, is the fact that we are only 50% of the the equation. The other 50% is composed of 1200 lbs of bone, muscle, instinct and, if you are really good at what you do, the muscle memory born of correct training to carry you the rider through whatever comes.
I love this video for one reason: it demonstrates the results of a horse and a rider who have put the time in (hours, days, months, years…) that it takes to create nano-second responses, correct responses given the situation. When it goes down like this, there is NO time to rationally ‘think.’…you must ‘do’ and that ability to ‘do’ is born of one thing: hard work. No short cuts.
